Leadership, Community and Academy

Leadership and inspiration are critical to fundraising. We work to bring a community together—in support of programs and causes that will create a world that all of us want to live in.
Leadership Academy captures the best of AFP. Dedicated individuals, all supporting their fundraising community—and the communities they live and work in. We expanded that community in Montreal as the board approved two new chapters: the Capitulo Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit Chapter located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and the AFP Aloha Collegiate Chapter located in Honolulu, Hawaii.

You’ll be hearing about many of the ideas and actions from these meetings later in this blog and on the AFP website. But their importance truly lies in what we achieve together. Over the four days we spent together, senior leaders gathered —some for the first time—to address the needs of our chapters and members through the dialogue, the face-to-face, that impacts change.

These conversations shape the future of AFP and of our profession. I hope you’ll keep them going so that they spiral out to our chapters, and ultimately, all of our members.

Leadership Academy should not be missed. For those who took part, thank you. If you’re a chapter leader, plan to attend next year’s Academy in Houston. It’s where we shape the future of our community.
